Back in August 2020 on a Saturday afternoon, Leeroy Todd (local photographer and film maker) and I were standing on the banks of Gympie’s mighty Mary River, at The Dawn. We were there with one of Australia’s most respected Indigenous filmmakers, John Harvey, who is most recognised for his work as producer on multiple productions including, the internationally awarded film SPEAR, the ABC television series THE WARRIORS, and more recently HEART IS A WASTELAND (starring Aaron Pedersen).
Friday the 29th of October at our stunning AICM building on Channon Street, a free all ages live music event, of epic proportions will take place to celebrate and inspire more safe spaces for females and our LGBTIQ community.
A glimmer is a moment of awe, sparking joy and evoking inner calm (the antonym of being triggered (i.e causing an intense negative emotion)). Since connecting with Brea Martin, it has been non-stop glimmers. I first connected with her on social media, and immediately admired her photography aesthetic, I quickly realised she was based here in Gympie and together we decided we should meet in real life.
Late August 2020, somewhere in the Toolara Forest, in the stunning Gympie Region, the sun was setting fast as a team of creatives worked with the unique scenery and last light beaming through the pines off a blazing horizon. A film clip usually takes a solid day minimum, from sun rise to sun set to complete. Producer/Director Andy James had a clear and well planned shoot list and we had all coordinated like clockwork in the weeks leading up, which reduced this time to only a few hours before sunset.
‘MURDER’ the second single release and film clip by Jaguar Jonze off her second EP …. I was honoured to be part of the creative team in my role as costume designer with Ribal Hosn as Film Director and Deena as Creative Director.
These images of CRY BABY for her 2nd single release titled Best of Luck will forever mark the day I celebrated my way out of the darkness of 2020 and stepped into 2021 a new ME, with a special new super-power, I’m now armed with my sewing machines and a beautiful Nikon Z 50.
